‘Tis the season for everyone getting boo’ed up and engaged.

I LIVE for the stories about how couples meet. For McKenly and Jared, it was the gym (this explains one of the pictures – keep scrolling). They came up from Texas for a family-friendly Colorado elopement to celebrate with the people that mean the most to them.

The Details

  • Because they were bringing guests, we chose a family-friendly elopement location that had amazing views but would accommodate a group of people – Blue Lakes in Breckenridge.
  • Jared and McKenly stayed in an Airbnb with their closest friends, while their family stayed at other Airbnbs nearby. They chose not do to a first look, staying separate until the ceremony.
  • Before the ceremony, McKenly gifted Jared a pin of him and his mom when he was little. She passed away, so it was a very thoughtful gift to honor her at their wedding.
  • After the ceremony and photos at Blue Lakes, everyone had a nice dinner together at the Hearthstone. They were able to rent out a semi-private space, which was perfect for speeches and a traditional cake cutting.

Must Knows

  • Breckenridge has a lot of stunning locations and is perfect for couples bringing along family and friends. You and bae can go off on your own and know that your fam has tons of options to stay entertained on their own. Shopping, restaurants, sightseeing – Breckenridge really has something for everyone.
  • I loved that these two didn’t compromise. They came to me knowing their friends and family were important, which is totally okay and acceptable! I preach a lot about not giving into family pressure, but that doesn’t mean I’m against having them there when my couples say “I do.”
  • You don’t have to get married alone to hire me! I have so many family-friendly Colorado elopement locations we can choose from together.
