Did you see Fort Collins in the title and say, “Where the hell is that?”

If you did, no judgement here. I don’t typically get to shoot in the cute little town north of Denver, so you likely have never heard me talk about it. When Ree and Jens asked about me visiting Fort Collins to shoot their engagement photos, I jumped at the chance. Let me fill you in on why you and bae NEED to say your “I do’s” there – and hire ya girl to photograph it.

  • Fort Collins is just over an hour away from Denver, straight north. It’s super easy to get to and would be a great option if you want to elope somewhere unique but still have time to get back and celebrate in the city.
  • Downtown Fort Collins is such a fun and cute spot. There are so many shops, restaurants, bars, and breweries that you could truly spend an entire day there. It’s a historic downtown area, which means lots of the buildings are brick and there are little alleyways tucked everywhere. It’s a photographer’s DREAM.
  • If you’re visiting Fort Collins, it’s not hard to find live music, especially at the bars and breweries. It makes my concert-junkie heart so happy.
  • The Poudre River runs right through town and is perfect for kayakers, tubers, and paddle boarders.
  • There are plenty of beautiful spots to elope out in nature, like Lory State Park and Horsetooth Reservoir. If you want more of an intimate-wedding vibe, check out venues like Mishawaka Ampitheatre and Rist Canyon Inn.
