Lauren and Brian did a first look and portraits by the river, held their ceremony outdoors with a full wildflower setup, and went straight into a reception with a live band, custom signage, and a high-energy dance floor.

One of the biggest draws of Planet Bluegrass is the St. Vrain River running directly through the property. It’s a beautiful spot for photos! Brian and Lauren did their first look near the river and came back for more portraits later. It naturally creates space to step away from the crowd without leaving the venue.
The ceremony setup at Planet Bluegrass was one of my favorites. It was overflowing with wildflower-style florals, but even without those, the space is already stunning. Trees, open sky, and the surrounding landscape make it feel full without needing much else. Their guests were handed drinks as they arrived, which immediately set the tone for the rest of the day. A close friend officiated, and Brian and Lauren shared handwritten vows, which kept everything grounded and personal. Plus, all their signage? ALL hand painted by these two! They did not miss a single detail.
After the ceremony, everything transitioned naturally into cocktail hour, complete with drink burros making their rounds for a full hour. From there, we moved into speeches, first dances, and a packed dance floor with a live band. The band setup and lighting completely shifted the energy once the sun went down. It was like a full blown concert, which was so epic!
One of the best parts of this venue is that you don’t feel stuck in one area. These two stepped away during cocktail hour for more river photos, and later in the night, they left the reception to cut their cake outside in the dark and take a breather. That flexibility makes a big difference, especially during a long day.
