This Pagosa Springs wedding was built around one thing: the experience.
Set at The Springs Resort, which is kind of its own little world tucked away in Pagosa Springs, this day was part of a family-focused weekend that allowed Rae and Taylor to soak in all the special moments (pun of course intended).
Pagosa Springs Wedding Details
We started the day early (8 a.m.!) at The Springs Resort, where Rae and Taylor did a private first look right by the hot springs. The vibe was super cool with all the steam coming off the water in the morning.
Before seeing family for the traditional ceremony, we carved out a couple hours just for Taylor and Rae. We drove around Pagosa Springs, stopping at Treasure Falls for private vows and heading up into the mountains for insane views along the pass. It gave them space to enjoy the day before it got busier.
From there, we drove to a small park close to the resort called Reservoir Hills Park. It’s super affordable to rent and surprisingly private – I think we saw two people the whole time we were there. Plus, do you see those views?! The ceremony was very emotional for them, knowing they were surrounded by their closest loved ones.
After snapping some family pics, we went to Cork & Board for an intimate reception. Taylor and Rae rented out the whole space, and the owners were incredibly kind and welcoming. They didn’t mind that we brought our own cake, and they provided some charcuterie, wine, and other snacks for everyone. It was the perfect spot for a small gathering.
These two signed their marriage license while we were there, did a somewhat traditional cake cutting, and then some of their family gave informal speeches. We just hung out for a bit after that, and it was the perfect time to relax from such an emotional day.
I ended my time with these two back at The Springs. We snapped some more portraits of them before the whole family suited up in matching robes and went to enjoy the hot springs for the rest of the weekend!
Must-Knows About Planning a Pagosa Springs Wedding
Pagosa Springs is about a 5–6-hour drive from Denver, so I highly recommend turning your wedding into a full weekend experience.
The Springs Resort is just insane. It’s basically an all-inclusive resort with a restaurant, bar, and tons of hot springs to pick from. Taylor and Rae’s families stayed there, and it was perfect for the whole fam.
These two decided to have their wedding early in the day, which was actually so smart. Because they did everything early, they were able to spend the rest of the day relaxing at the hot springs with their loved ones.
The park they chose was SO convenient for a ceremony spot. It’s very close to The Springs, so no one had to drive very far.
Because Pagosa Springs is so far from Denver, Rae and Taylor weren’t able to bring their cats with them. Once they got back home, I went over to their house to take a few photos of their cats signing their marriage license. Remember, self-solemnization means anyone can sign!
