The perfect punk-rock elopement location doesn’t exist…

Oh but it DOES. An elopement at The Neon Museum in Las Vegas is the perfect spot for all my alternative besties getting married. That’s right – you can say “I do” there! The process is pretty simple – here’s all you need to know about how to elope at The Neon Museum.

But first, some background. The museum collects, preserves, studies, and exhibits a ton of iconic Las Vegas neon signs. They have signs from the 1930s all the way up to present day. The campus has the outdoor exhibition space called the Neon Boneyard and also the Neon Boneyard North Gallery, which is home to even more signs and serves as the event space. It is seriously such a magical place, and I would DIE to photograph an elopement there.

Getting Married at The Neon Museum

Badass couples who elope at The Neon Museum can book a 60-minute ceremony and photography experience. It can be just you and bae, but the space can also accommodate up to 50 people if bringing friends and family is important to you. Ceremonies take place in the private North Gallery, where you’ll be surrounded by the coolest vintage neon signs in what they call a “boneyard” environment.

Time slots are available every day of the week up until sunset. BUT don’t plan on a summer elopement here! Because of how frickin’ hot it gets in Vegas, there are no weddings allowed from June – August.

The grand total for their standard experience is $2,500. It includes the private space for an hour for up to 50 guests, along with benches that can seat up to 32 people, if you request them. You and bae will need to hire your own licensed officiant and photographer, as well as any other vendors you want, like a florist or videographer.

The Neon Museum does offer a couple add-ons for their weddings. For an extra fee, you can add an additional 10 guests, some extra set up time, or fun marquee letters! If you want to explore the museum before or after your elopement, just know that admission is NOT included in your booking fee.

Taking Photos at The Neon Museum

If you’re as obsessed as I am with this place, but you aren’t getting married quite yet, I have good news. We can still do a photo session there! There are a couple options to choose from if you want to take professional photos at The Neon Museum.

  • Portrait Hour: If Golden Hour is your shit, this is a great option. You can book an hour time slot for $75, hire your own photographer, and get some amazing pictures in a shared space. It’s not private, but there’s so much space that we won’t have a problem making it seem like you were the only one there.
  • After Hours Portrait Hour: Similar to the first option, but this session takes place after the museum closes. The neon colors pop OFF at night, and with someone like me who knows how to shoot in every kind of lighting, the pictures we can get would be insane. Tickets for this option are released two months in advance, so keep an eye on their website!
  • Private Shoot: This option guarantees your privacy. Can you imagine taking engagement pictures at The Neon Museum? So sick. This type of session will cost $400 for non-local couples wanting personal-use pictures. Two week’s notice is required, and I’m happy to help get everything set up for you!

How to Get There

The Neon Museum is located at 770 Las Vegas Blvd North. It’s a little bit Northwest of the downtown area and a quick 15-minute drive from Harry Reid International Airport. If you’re taking a taxi or Uber, they have a specific pick-up/drop-off zone next to the museum on McWilliams Ave. If you’re driving, they have free parking! Check out a map here.

Other Sites to See

After you elope at The Neon Museum, make a vacation out of your trip to Vegas! There are so many ways to spend a weekend.

  • Absinthe Show –This was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. It’s definitely raunchy and not family friendly, so be warned. I loved it though! The perfect balance of offensive and amazing.
  • Fountains of Bellagio – Just lean into your inner tourist and check this off the list. Every night, there’s a show with over 1,000 fountains “dancing” to music and lights on an artificial lake in front of the Bellagio Resort.
  • The Sphere – This thing is massive. It’s actually taller than the Statue of Liberty. The entire thing is covered in 1.2 million LED lights, which make it transform into a lifelike replica of whatever images it projects.
  • Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area – You know I have to throw some nature in here, especially since it’s only 17 miles West of downtown. There are tons of hiking and biking trails surrounded by the beautiful Mojave Desert and its red hills.
  • High Roller Observation Wheel – You’ll get an amazing view of the strip! It’s basically a massive Ferris wheel that has 28 pods that can hold up to 40 people. A trip around takes about 30 minutes. Pro tip: There’s also a Happy Half Hour pod that has a complimentary open bar during your 30 minutes around the wheel.
  • Downtown Container Park – You know I love artsy vibes, and this place is so cool. Container Park is an open-air dining and shopping plaza made entirely from repurposed shipping containers. There are a ton of restaurants and shops to check out.

Let’s start planning your Neon Museum elopement.
