Visualization sessions are key to giving my couples the best photo experience possible.
During my call with Luis and Bianca, they explained that they wanted to recreate one of their first dates, where they took a train to have a date night in another city. As soon as they mentioned the train, I knew we had to take engagement photos at Denver Union Station.
The Details
Before we took engagement photos at Denver Union Station, we started the session at the Ramble Hotel in downtown Denver. The whole place has the best moody, upscale vibes – it’s a photographer’s dream space for creative shots.
We spent an hour in the hotel room getting photos that captured the “beginning of a date night” vibes. The bathroom photos were inspired by Pinterest pictures Bianca found, and I was more than happy to recreate them for her and Luis. We were able to hit SO many different lighting situations, which gave them a ton of different looks and vibes to choose from in their final photos.
These two did a quick outfit change and then we hit the town. We wandered around Denver for an hour to recreate their city date, making sure we had plenty of time at Denver Union Station.
We were able to incorporate their personalities in a lot of different ways throughout the engagement session. For example, they’re big coffee people, so when they saw the “espresso” neon sign, we made sure to stop for some fun photos.
Must Knows
Ramble Hotel is a great spot for anyone in Denver looking for a date-night spot that’s centrally located and in a safe area.
If you want to take engagement photos at Ramble Hotel, they do NOT allow pictures anywhere but in your room, unless you’re getting married there. Because of that, Luis and Bianca booked the biggest room available to make sure they had space for their engagement photos.
We didn’t just all show up downtown and hope for the best. I do visualization calls with all my couples to make sure they get exactly what they want out of their session. Luis, Bianca, and I reviewed Pinterest inspo, planned their outfits, and talked about their vision. Incorporating the train was the biggest “must have” for them. I couldn’t be happier with how their engagement photos at Denver Union Station turned out!
These two left total creative control up to me. They trusted me to execute their vision, which is so huge when choosing a photographer. Hire someone who gets you and who you trust, otherwise you could have regrets later on.
