Getting a new tattoo brings me so much friggin’ happiness, so when I hear a couple wants elopement tattoos, my heart does a happy dance.

Jenna and Ryan were one of those couples. These two live in Colorado, and our day together was a little different than my usual elopements. They were planning a larger, traditional wedding out on the East coast, but they wanted to have elopementesque photos done to capture their adventurous personalities. And yes, they got tattoos!

The Details

  • Our adventure session was in Crested Butte, one of my FAVE places in all of Colorado. It’s about four hours away from Denver, but it’s totally worth the drive.
  • We started the day at their Airbnb where we took some photos with their adorable new puppy.
  • Then it was off to get elopement tattoos in Crested Butte. They chose small tattooed bands for their ring fingers, which will be an amazing reminder of their special day together.
  • Ryan and Jenna love hiking, so we did a short hike up to their photo location and had an insane sunset as their backdrop.
  • Because they’ll be officially married at their larger wedding, there were no vows, dancing, or marriage license signing. It was simply a day to spend intentional time together before the big wedding day.

Must Knows

  • I’m so proud of my couples who figure out ways to do what makes them happy. Instead of settling for one type of wedding over the other, they got the best of both worlds by having a large wedding with their family and an elopement experience alone.
  • You know me – I’m up for anything! As your personal planner, I’ll make sure we get every important detail incorporated into your day, whether it’s elopement tattoos or taking pictures with your pup.
  • Speaking of pups, there are a few things to keep in mind if you want a dog-friendly elopement. Get the deets here.
