Engagement photos don’t have to be outside.

For some reason, I think couples automatically feel like they need to be. Ashley and Danny have such a groovy, ethereal vibe, and we knew we needed to find a location that matched that energy. Taking their engagement photos at Disco Den in Denver was the perfect spot. I can’t say enough about how kick ass this engagement session was!

The Details

  • Fun fact: Danny used to be in a band that I followed pretty closely when I lived back in Illinois. When Ashley reached out years later saying I was, without a doubt, their photographer, I had a fan girl moment. I even got on our first call with his band’s t-shirt on – no shame.
  • Ashley was really nervous throughout the whole session. By the end of the day, she was way more comfortable and realized being in front of a camera wasn’t as big a deal as she was making it in her head. I work really hard to make my couples comfy, so seeing her relax meant a lot to me!
  • These two were down for all of my crazy ideas. I mean, have you ever seen engagement photos done in a bathroom? No, didn’t think so. I fucking love them.

Must Knows

  • I love the Disco Den in Denver, but there are so many cool studios to choose from here! This one is always an option, but I have more locations up my sleeve to make sure I can match any couple’s vibe.
  • Engagement sessions are the best way to get comfortable working with your photographer and being in front of a camera. Without this session, Ashley would likely have been nervous their whole elopement day, which is never what I want. Since we did engagement photos at Disco Den, she knows what to expect and won’t be stressed about it on their big day.
