This Colorado Springs courthouse wedding was really fucking cool in the best way.

Some wedding days feel like a magazine spread. Some feel like a warm family reunion. And then there are the rare ones that are both. Luis and Bianca’s day was fashion-forward and intentional, rooted in the things that mattered most to them.

Colorado Springs Courthouse Wedding Details

  • I met these two a couple hours before their actual ceremony at the post office across from their hotel, the Mining Exchange. The post office is adorable, and they really wanted photos there to capture the vibes of the day.
  • After playing around in the post office, we went back to the hotel for more pictures, really leaning into the courthouse elopement meets fashion week situation. Just look how cute it is!
  • After we were done with pictures, Bianca and Luis got ready together because staying close felt right for them.
  • Once everyone was ready, it was time to head over for their Colorado Springs courthouse wedding. Bianca rented a Mini Cooper because they’re her favorite, and her dad drove her to the courthouse in it. It was literally a block away, but she wanted a grand entrance moment. Respect.
  • Friends and family met her outside, and they did their vows right there on the courthouse steps because it felt more them than going inside.
  • After Luis and Bianca said “I do,” we did more fun photos with the Mini Cooper, headed back to the hotel for family photos, and then it was time to say goodbye!

Courthouse Wedding Must Knows

  • These two booked my five-hour package, which allowed them enough time for both their priorities – an intimate photo shoot because Bianca is the queen of fashion and loves dressing up, and a ceremony that involved their favorite people.
  • I hate when people give couples shit for turning their wedding into a shoot. When else do you get dressed like that with your favorite person and have someone documenting it all day? Never.
  • If you want photos inside a hotel, a lot of times they’ll require a permit. That was the case for the Mining Exchange, so keep that in mind if you want to plan something similar.
  • It’s so important to build a day and a timeline around what matters to YOU, nobody else. For Luis and Bianca, their Colorado Springs courthouse wedding was able to honor their two priorities: the photo shoot of their dreams and a real, grounded wedding day with the people they love.

FAQs – Colorado Springs Courthouse Wedding

Can we do vows outside the courthouse?
Yes! Many couples choose to exchange vows on the steps or nearby outdoor spaces. It’s often more flexible, and honestly prettier, than inside.

Is a courthouse wedding good for photos?
Absolutely. A Colorado Springs courthouse wedding can look incredibly stylish and intentional — especially when you pair it with a great hotel, outfits you love, and time built into your timeline for portraits.

Can we have guests at a courthouse wedding?
Yes! You can keep it small but still include close friends and family. This day was a perfect example of balancing intimacy with community.

Do you need an officiant to get married in Colorado?
Nope. Colorado allows self-solemnization, which means you can marry yourselves without an officiant. You can still have one if you want, but legally, you don’t need it.

Can we get married anywhere in Colorado?
Pretty much. Courthouses, mountains, Airbnbs, hotel rooms, forest trails — Colorado gives you a lot of freedom as long as you’re respecting the land and any permit rules. Here are some ideas to get you started.

You don’t have to choose between vibes and meaning. You get both.
