If you worry about feeling weird in front of the camera, keep reading.

Sometimes, my couples really don’t look forward to getting their photos taken. And that’s okay! Dani and Megan are getting married out here, so they also wanted to take their LGBTQ+ engagement photos in Colorado. They worried about feeling nervous in front of the camera, but we ended up capturing authentic, joy-filled moments!

These LGBTQ+ Engagement Photos in Colorado took place in Evergreen.

These LGBTQ+ Engagement Photos in Colorado were on top of a mountain.

The Details

  • Megan and Dani wanted the mountains as the backdrop for their engagement photos, but we didn’t want to be too far outside of Denver because a blizzard was rolling in. We made a plan to meet in Evergreen, which is about a 40-minute drive from downtown.
  • We took these photos in January. These two lucked out with a GORGEOUS sunny day, and since it was January, we still found a thick blanket of snow. We got two totally different vibes for their photos, which I love.
  • Their biggest priority was getting photos that commemorated this special time in their relationship and highlighted their partnership.

Must Knows

  • When my couples take photos with me, I want them to feel safe, loved, and important. If you’re a couple looking to take LGBTQ+ engagement photos in Colorado, I’m your girl. I’ll also help you plan your perfect wedding day and find kickass vendors that are queer affirming. I don’t fuck with anyone in the industry who isn’t an ally.
  • All my engagement sessions are two hours, which is plenty of time for two outfits and two different locations. But just because that’s what I offer, doesn’t mean you have to do that! If the thought of being in front of the camera that long sounds god awful, or if it doesn’t feel authentic to you and bae’s relationship, say less. Dani and Megan only did one outfit, but given the location we picked, we still captured totally different looks for them.
  • If you feel like you’re going to be super uncomfy in front of a camera for your wedding or elopement day, it’s SO important for you and bae to take engagement pictures, or some sort of shoot with a photographer. It helps you practice and get a better feel for what to expect.
  • I say this all the time, but the weather in Colorado is unpredictable as hell. You have to be ready to roll with the punches. We were able to take pictures ahead of the blizzard, but these two did end up getting stuck in Colorado for a couple more days than planned. But I mean, if you ask me, it’s not the worst place to get stuck!

Newly engaged and no clue where to start? I got you
