But I have some bad news buddies. Sapphire Point is undergoing some major construction in 2025, which means site reservations aren’t currently allowed. Right now, they’re anticipating it being closed June – November 2025, but we all know how reliable construction timelines are… For the most up to date information on their progress, keep an eye on their website.
If you had your heart set on a Sapphire Point Overlook elopement, don’t worry! Colorado has endless options that will give you mountain views without any hiking. Check out these alternatives for eloping at Sapphire Point Overlook.
Pass Lake sits at 12,000 ft in elevation and gives you the same wide-open mountain views you’d get when eloping at Sapphire Point Overlook. Breckenridge is still the best place to stay for this spot. A Pass Lake elopement can accommodate up to 75 people and the best part? No hiking required!
Officer’s Gulch is famous for its Colorado Pines and gorgeous lake views. Just like Sapphire Point Overlook, it’s a location right off the road, making it super accessible. An Officer’s Gulch elopement can accommodate up to 30 people, so it’s another great spot if you’re wanting to bring friends and family. Unlike Sapphire Point Overlook, this location does not require a permit, so eloping at Officer’s Gulch is first come, first serve. I recommend this spot for weekday elopements so you can miss out on some of the crowds.
This is maybe the most accessible of all these alternatives for eloping at Sapphire Point Overlook! The Lodge at Breckenridge has everything you need in one spot. All your guests can stay onsite, and you can host your ceremony and reception on property. Since it’s located in Breckenridge, there are also plenty of other places we can go to for photos to fit whatever vibe you’re after. The Lodge at Breckenridge runs specials for their pricing sometimes, so keep an eye on their website if you’re interested.
Like the name suggests, it’s a secret! So many popular elopement spots are getting run down because people aren’t respecting the Leave No Trace principles, so I try and keep some locations private to protect them. If this looks like a dream alternative for eloping at Sapphire Point Overlook, let me know and I can give you the deets. It’s accessible like the other locations and has enough space for guests.
Looking for something different for your Colorado elopement? I have TONS of other location ideas for my couples.
