Snowy Loveland Pass Elopement

Breckenridge Colorado is one of my favorite parts of Colorado – and this is saying a lot because it’s HARD to choose favorites in such a gorgeous state. Breckenridge is a part of (what I like to call) a love square consisting of Keystone, Silverthorne, & Frisco. Although Loveland Pass is near Keystone, I encourage couples to stay in Breckenridge for the full mountain town experience! All cute little mountain towns with huge ski culture within a half-hour of each other. Whether you’re wanting to ski bum it for the week or adventure into the mountains, Breckenridge has it all.

I don’t believe there is a bad season to visit the Breckenridge area – all seasons have it’s perks. Winter consists of skiing & winter sports. If you’re not a winter sport person, opt for summertime. Dillon Reservoir is the place to BE for water sports. Downtown Breck has lots of shopping & Outdoor eateries. Take a gorgeous drive through Loveland Pass or hike the continental divide. Breckenridge is incredibly family-friendly and has attractions for everyone.

Eloping at Loveland Pass? Here are some helpful tips:

  • If you’re traveling from Denver in the winter, rent an SUV for snowy conditions. The drive from Denver to Breckenridge is BEAUTIFUL but can be treacherous.
  • Loveland Pass can be unpredictable in the winter. Be sure to check conditions here.
  • Layers are a must in the winter. Ditch those Louboutins and trade them in for some warm boots – you’ll need them!
  • Southwest Airlines offers 2 free checked bags + Ski/Snowboarding Gear. Southwest is the best if you need more than 1 bag.
  • The best time to shoot at Loveland pass is about an hour before sunset. The Sun goes behind the mountains a little before Sunset time. I like to plan for couples to get photos done at other places like Sapphire Point Overlook and around downtown Breck before we head up to Loveland Pass!
  • Loveland Pass is a really well known scenic stop off right off the road. We may see tourist but they usually take their photos and head out. If you want more seclusion while saying your vows, we can hike up the trail a bit to get away from the road!
