Did you know you can have a kickass elopement in just three hours?

Mattie and Steve, who are Colorado locals, consider themselves introverts, so they didn’t want a big party for their wedding day. Instead, they chose to have an intimate wedding at Frisco Lake. This allowed them to avoid being the center of attention and only invite their immediate family members. It was exactly what they wanted, and we fit all of their priorities into just three hours. To top it all off, we got to experience THE best sunset of my entire career.

The Details

  • Mattie and Steve envisioned a glowy look for their intimate wedding photos. To achieve that, we started everything around 5 p.m. when the sun was starting to set.
  • I met these two at their intimate wedding location – Frisco Lake. Getting ready photos weren’t really their thing, so we started the day by taking pictures before their fam arrived.
  • It was very important for their immediate family to be at their wedding, so I made sure to pick a spot that could accommodate a small group. Frisco Lake was perfect!
  • After sharing vows and saying “I do,” we broke away for some alone time. The three of us headed up to Loveland Pass (12,000 feet in elevation) for a picnic and more photos. Steve and Mattie LOVE Cheba Hut, so they brought it along for the picnic.
  • Unity joints were shared. You know I love these.
  • Something super unique they did was bring lanterns. They were such a vibe, and I loved getting creative with the photos we took.
  • Just LOOK at the sunset in their pics! I could not believe how lucky we got with the cotton-candy colored skies. It was absolutely the best sunset I’ve ever seen.

Must Knows

  • My standard elopement package is around five hours, but that’s not a one-size-fits-all timeframe. Some couples want more time, and some, like Mattie and Steve, want less. I’m down for it all! We’ll work together to design a package that is the right amount of time for you and bae.
  • A lot of my couples feel really nervous about having their photos taken. I totally get it. Unfortunately, not all photographers know how to create safe, comfy spaces for their clients, and my couples have had to experience that. I prioritize making sure you and bae are comfortable and feel 100% confident throughout the day. For Mattie and Steve, I showed them some of the photos I was capturing on my camera. By the end of the day, they felt like they could take on the world!
  • These two are super lucky to have immediate family who were supportive and excited about their decision to have an intimate wedding at Frisco Lake. I know that’s not the case for all my couples. Regardless of if you want to elope totally on your own or include some of your closest loved ones, I’ll help you plan your day to be exactly what you want.
