If you’re torn between doing a private elopement or an intimate ceremony with family, I have the solution : a two-day elopement.
Makayla and Logan wanted to honor their relationships with their family, but also didn’t want to compromise on having a honeymoon experience while visiting Colorado. Guess what besties. They didn’t compromise SHIT. We designed two separate days to be exactly what they wanted. Here’s how they had a two-day elopement.
The Details
I first met Logan and Makayla in Crested Butte for an adventure session, which is a two-hour photo session with your girl. They did a sweet first look surrounded by wildflowers and then shared private vows.
After vows, we frolicked in the flowers and got some amazing photos. Crested Butte is known for their wildflowers in the summer, so I love that these two got to experience it while here from another state.
A couple days later, I met up with Logan and Makayla again in Breckenridge for the second part of their two-day elopement.
I did some getting ready photos with them before we headed over to Blue Lakes for some more private photos of just them. They really wanted to visit Blue Lakes before their ceremony with family, so we made it happen!
After Blue Lakes, we drove to Officer’s Gulch. Their family met us there for the ceremony, which one of Makayla and Logan’s siblings officiated.
It started to rain, because of course it did, so we decided to drive over to Dillon Reservoir after the ceremony for family pictures. It wasn’t raining there, so everyone was much comfier for their photos!
To end their two-day elopement, Logan and Makayla celebrated with family at an intimate dinner in downtown Breckenridge.
Must Knows
Crested Butte is about four hours from Denver, and Breckenridge is an hour and a half drive from Denver.
This two-day elopement was in July. If you’ve heard me talk about Colorado before, then you KNOW the weather will be weathering. We always get pop-up storms during the afternoons, so my clear umbrellas stay in my car. They came in handy for Makayla and Logan!
The Breckenridge elopement day was my seven-hour package, which gave us plenty of time for getting ready photos, a stop at Blue Lakes for pictures and a picnic, their ceremony, and family photos.
Because these two had already taken photos in Crested Butte and at Blue Lakes, the rain didn’t stress them out at all! They knew they already had their own photos, so they just embraced the weather and had fun with it.
